近日,新府學社區(qū)迎來了一位重量級人物——Mr. Kristan Proudman,他以新任初小部外方校長的身份正式加入到北京市新府學外國語學校。Kristan校長在國際教育領域深耕二十余年,他將用豐富的知識和對教育的真摯熱情,為新府學注入更強的學術理念與創(chuàng)新活力。

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and the Xin Fuxue International Academy Community,
It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of commitment that I introduce myself as the new International Principal of Xin Fuxue International Academy. It is a privilege to be joining this vibrant and diverse community of learners, educators, and families. I am thrilled to embark on this journey with you, as we strive together to create an environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and personally.
With over 25 years of experience in education, ranging from leadership roles in the UK, USA, Australia, and China, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for education. Throughout my career, I have worked in various educational contexts, encompassing K-12, universities, and bilingual education, with a strong emphasis on academic excellence, pastoral care, and safeguarding. I have dedicated myself to creating inclusive learning environments that encourage academic achievement and nurture students’ emotional and social growth. It is this holistic approach that I look forward to fostering at Xin Fuxue International Academy.
My own educational journey has been both diverse and enriching. I hold a Bachelor of Education from James Cook University in Australia, a CFPS from Cambridge University, and a Master of Education from the University of Essex, where I focused on Leadership in Education. These qualifications have provided me with a solid academic foundation and a deep understanding of educational leadership and pedagogy. Currently, I am privileged to contribute to the development of future educators as a lecturer and tutor for teacher training at Buckingham University, helping to shape the next generation of dedicated and knowledgeable teachers.
At Xin Fuxue International Academy, I envision a school where academic excellence is not merely a goal, but a journey—a journey that requires hard work, consistent effort, and the courage to embrace challenges and failures as part of the learning process. It is through such experiences that we develop resilience and a true love for learning.
As Albert Einstein aptly stated,“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”This quote encapsulates my educational philosophy. Learning is a dynamic process, and growth occurs when we encourage our students to take risks, make mistakes, reflect, and persevere. This approach not only enhances academic success but also instils a sense of self-belief and confidence in each student.
The pursuit of academic excellence is not achieved through shortcuts; it requires dedication, resilience, and a willingness to put in effort consistently. My teaching philosophy emphasises the importance of students developing a growth mindset—understanding that intelligence and abilities can be cultivated through hard work, strategic efforts, and a willingness to face setbacks with courage.
In our classrooms and throughout the school community, we will encourage students to challenge themselves, to try new approaches, and to never be afraid of failure. Instead, we will promote a culture where students view failures as valuable learning opportunities. This mindset will not only enhance their academic outcomes but also prepare them to face the complexities of the real world with determination and resilience.
Respect will be the cornerstone of our school culture. I firmly believe that every member of our community—whether a student, a teacher, a parent, or a member of staff—deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. This mutual respect forms the foundation of a positive and supportive learning environment. Respect towards teachers, respect towards fellow students, and respect towards oneself are integral to building a harmonious and inclusive school community.
Self-discipline plays a pivotal role in developing good habits and routines. By fostering self-discipline, students will learn to take responsibility for their own actions, maintain focus in their studies, and manage their time effectively. These skills are essential not only for their academic success but also for their growth as independent and responsible individuals.
As the International Principal, I will work diligently with the leadership team, teachers, and staff to ensure that every student feels valued and supported. We will strive to maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct, both inside and outside the classroom. Good behaviour is paramount in creating a conducive learning environment, where each student’s right to learn is respected and upheld.
While academic success is crucial, I believe that a well-rounded education goes beyond the classroom. It encompasses the development of character, emotional intelligence, and social skills. At Xin Fuxue International Academy, we will prioritise the holistic development of every student. This means promoting critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication, while also nurturing empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
Our school will continue to provide opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular activities, sports, and arts and introduce community service, allowing them to explore their interests and talents. Through these experiences, students will develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their peers, and the world around them.
To achieve these ambitious goals, I recognise the importance of collaboration between the school, families, and the broader community. Education is a shared journey, and the active involvement of parents and the community is essential to the success of our students. I encourage open communication, mutual trust, and a strong partnership between parents and the school. Together, we can create an environment where each child feels supported, empowered, and inspired to reach their full potential.
As we begin this new chapter at Xin Fuxue International Academy, I am eager to work alongside each of you—parents, students, teachers, and staff—to build upon the strong foundation that has been established. My commitment to you is to lead with integrity, transparency, and a steadfast dedication to the success and wellbeing of every student.
I am confident that, together, we can have a school community where students are encouraged to be inquisitive, compassionate, and resilient learners. A community where every individual is respected and valued, and where excellence is not just an aspiration, but a daily practice.

我的教育歷程豐富多彩,充滿啟發(fā)。我擁有澳大利亞詹姆斯·庫克大學的教育學學士學位、劍橋大學的CFPS學位,以及英國埃塞克斯大學的教育學碩士學位,專注于教育領導。這些資質為我打下了堅實的學術基礎,使我對教育領導力和教育方法有了深刻的理解。目前,我有幸在白金漢大學擔任講師和輔導員,參與未來教育者的發(fā)展,為下一個世代的優(yōu)秀教師培養(yǎng)貢獻我的力量。

作為外方校長,我將與領導團隊、教師及員工密切合作,確保每位學生都感到被重視與支持。我們將努力維護高標準的行為規(guī)范,無論是在課堂內外。良好的行為是創(chuàng)建一個良好學習環(huán)境的前提,每位學生享有的學習權利都應獲得尊重與維護。
