01、高中部升學指導講座
北京君誠學校本周,學校面向9-12年級的學生和家長舉辦了升學指導講座。其中陳曉民校長、升學指導主任Valery Cooper老師、陳諄諄老師分別對于9-12年級的學生在各階段要注重什么,大學申請過程、以及學生申請美國、英國、澳洲等不同國家的大學時所需注意的方面進行了詳細的說明。
陳校表示,君誠擁有標準化考試的輔導體系,對于9-10年級的學生而言,需集中精力解決托福考試,而對于10-11年級的學生來說則需要重點關注SAT考試。除此之外,學生應安排好自己的課余時間,尤其是每個寒暑假,盡量多參與感興趣的比賽和社團,讓自己的學習生活充實而有意義,同時也有利于國外大學的申請。
This week, the school is holding college application counseling lectures for students and parents from grade 9 to grade12. Among them, Dr. Chen, teacher Valery Cooper and teacher Chen zhunzhu,respectively, gave a detailed description of what students from grade 9 tograde 12 should pay attention to in each stage, the college application process, and the aspects that students should pay attention to when applying for universities in the United States, Britain, Australia and other countries.
Dr.Chen said SIBS has a standardized test tutoring system that requires students from grade 9 to 10 to focus on TOEFL, while students from grade 10 to 11 need to focus on SAT. In addition, students should make good arrangements for their spare time, especially in summer and winter vacations, and try to participate in as many competitions and clubs as they are interested in, so as to enrich their study life and make it meaningful and conducive to the application of foreign universities.
02、環(huán)保教育之“垃圾分類”
"Garbage sorting" in environmental education
“垃圾都跑哪去了?”這可能是城市里很少有人關心的問題,孩子們紛紛舉手,各抒己見。這是二年級IB探究課程中的一幕,今天的主題是環(huán)保教育之“垃圾分類”。老師通過展示觸目驚心的生活垃圾圖片,引導出“垃圾應該怎樣處理”、“怎樣正確進行垃圾分類”。孩子們分組討論,積極地把各類垃圾的圖片做正確的分類。
"Where's all the trash? This may be an issue that few people in the city care about, kids are all actively put their hands up to express their opinions. This is a scene from the year 2 IB exploration course. Today's topic is "garbage sorting" inenvironmental education. By showing striking pictures of garbage, the teacher guides "how to deal with garbage" and "how to properly classify garbage". The children discuss in groups and actively classify the pictures of all kinds of rubbish.
03、藝術設計部本周綜述
Art and design department review this week
本周,六七年級開展了圖形聯(lián)想的課程,分別以圓、方和三角為母形作二十個相關的圖形聯(lián)想,通過對造型、功能、產(chǎn)品分類、概念聯(lián)系等方面關聯(lián)進行聯(lián)想。八九年級是蘋果創(chuàng)意聯(lián)想,以蘋果為母形作三個相關的圖形聯(lián)想,通過對蘋果的造型、功能、概念等方面進行聯(lián)想,并與其相關的創(chuàng)意體進行同構,產(chǎn)生新的創(chuàng)意圖形。十年級是創(chuàng)意自畫像,“我是誰?從哪里來?到哪里去?”一直是西方哲學家思考的重要問題,從自己的生活經(jīng)歷中去提取自己的物理形態(tài)或是心理形態(tài),以了解自己為切入點,進行創(chuàng)作。
This week, G6 and G7 launched the course of graphic association, which took circle, square and triangle as the original shape to make 20 relevant graphic associations, through the association of modeling, function, product classification, conceptual association and other aspects. In grade 8 and 9, students were engaged in apple creative association, which took apple as the original shape to make three related graphics associations. Through the association of apple's shape, function, concept and other aspects, they made isomorphism with its related creative body to generate new creative graphics. Grade 10 is creative self-portrait, "who am I? From where? Where am I going ?" It has always been an important issue for western philosophers to think about, to extract their own physical or psychological form from their own life experience, and to understand themselves as a starting point for their creation.

KG3 events this week
本周KG3的活動也是精彩紛呈。有結合社科的手工活動,也有探索多與少的數(shù)學問題。今天,孩子們還做了“火山石焰”以及品嘗酸甜苦辣的小實驗!
This week's events at KG3 are also exciting. There are manual activities combined with social sciences, as well as exploring more and less mathematical problems. Parents come to see the wonderful performance of the children!

05、中學部體育課之“棒球”剪影
Baseball of PE class in middle school
在君誠,我們提供了大量的體育項目,其中包含了足球、籃球、棒球、高爾夫球等,并組織學生參加校內比賽以及校際比賽。棒球運動是一種以棒打球為主要特點,集體性、對抗性很強的球類運動項目,被譽為“競技與智慧的結合”。在今天的棒球課上,老師將學生分成攻方和守方,練習擊球、跑壘、防守截殺動作,以得分多者獲勝。
At SIBS, we provide a large number of sports programs, including football, basketball, baseball, golf, and organize students to participate in intramural and intercollegiate competitions. Baseball is a kind of collective and antagonistic ball game with bat playing as its mainfeature, which is known as "the combination of competition and wisdom". In today's baseball class, the teacher divided the students into the offensive and the defensive teams, practice batting, base running, defensive volleys, and win by scoring more.
06、家長會通知
Notice of Parent/Teacher Meeting
我校將在下周舉辦 KG3-G5一對一家長會。具體時間為,11月12日KG3年級,11月13日G1-G2年級,11月14日G3-G5年級。家長會當天所在年級不上課,本周亦無ASA課外課。謝謝您的理解和支持!
We will arrange a parent/teacher meeting for KG3-G5. If parents want to attend to the parent/teacher meeting, please write your child’s name and post it in the Wechat group.
Note :
1. Homeroom teachers will post the time slot in the Wechat group on November 8th before the parent/teacher meeting. Then parents can choose the meeting time with homeroom teachers according to your own schedule.
2. We are trying our best to arrange the staff who help to translate for parents, but we are worried as we don’t have enough staff, which could be an inconvenience. We cordially ask parents to bring your own translators.
3. No ASA on Nov-12,13,14.

07、君誠學校社區(qū)圖書捐贈倡議
SIBS Book Donation Initiative
幫助君誠學生養(yǎng)成愛好閱讀的習慣不僅需要君誠學校的不懈努力,也需要君誠各位家長的共同支持。如今隨著圖書種類的繁多和電子讀物的增多,青少年們淘汰家里的讀物也比過往頻繁,也正是這個原因,通過增加圖書館的藏書來滿足學生們的閱讀需要以及越來越難。青少年的閱讀有非常高的同伴驅動因素,因此通過社區(qū)捐贈圖書活動,能夠化廢為寶,共享社區(qū)資源,以綠色可持續(xù)發(fā)展的理念,聚攏資源,支持我校學生的閱讀習慣養(yǎng)成。
現(xiàn)向君誠學校各學生家庭及員工們發(fā)出倡議,征集家長已淘汰或閑置圖書的捐贈。在年度捐贈活動中,捐贈書目數(shù)量名列前茅的家庭將會獲贈榮譽證書以及公示表彰。

注:本次捐書時間為 11 月 11 日至 11 月 29 日。學前班至三年級:每天早上8:30-9:30 可由家長送至小學樓圖書館;四年級至高中:學生自己利用課間交到中學樓圖書館。
Dear Parents:
Helping SIBS students develop a readinghabit requires not only the unremitting efforts of SIBS, but also the supportof parents, students, and staff in this community. Nowadays, students are using electronic devices for entertainment during their spare time. In turn, their reading habits have decreased. To motivate students to read, it is important to provide them with intriguing reading material and choice. Therefore, we hope that through the community books donation activity, we can turn unused books into treasure, share community resources, and gather resources with the concept of green sustainable development to support the reading habits of our students.
It is now an initiative to recruit parents and employees of SIBS to collect books that are no longer required or left unused. Families with the highest number of donated books will receive acertificate of honor and public commendation.
Thank you for your support of this book donation activity!
Note: The donation period will begin from November 11th to November 29th. Kindergarten to Third Grade: 8:30-9:30 AM,books can be taken to the primary school library by the parents or students; Fourth grade to HS: the students may use passing times to hand over the books to the MSHS library.
