    Text A How Old Is She ？

    A woman was having some trouble with her heart， so she went to see
the doctor. He was a new doctor ， and did not know her. So he first asked
some questions， and one of them was："How old are you？" 一位婦女的心
臟有問題，所以她去看醫(yī)生。這是一位新醫(yī)生，他對她不了解。所以他先問了一
些問題，其中一個是：“你幾歲了？”

    "Well ，" she answered："I don't remember ， doctor ， but I will
try to think. "She thought for a minute and then said ，"Yes. I remember
now ， doctor ！ When I married ， I was eighteen years old ， and my
husband was thirty. Now my husband is sixty ， I know. And that is twice
thirty. So I am twice eighteen. That is thirty-six， isn't it ？ "“唔，”

    她回答：“我不記得了，醫(yī)生，但我會試著去想。”她想了一會兒說，“是
的，我記起來了，醫(yī)生！我結婚的時候，我是18歲，我的丈夫是30歲�，F(xiàn)在我知
道丈夫60歲了。那正好是30的兩倍。所以我也是18的兩倍。那就是36歲，不是嗎？”

    A ： Hello， 332440. A：你好，332440.

    B ： Oh hello ， Sally. This is Dave Thomson here. Could I speak to
Jim please？

    B ：哦，你好，Sally.我是Dave Thomson. 請讓Jim 接電話好嗎？

    A ： I'm afraid he's not in at the moment Dave. He went out about

    B ： OK ， well ， tell him I've called ， will you ？ And I'll try

    A ： All right. Goodbye ， Dave. A：好的，再見，Dave.

    B ： Thanks ， then Sally ， goodbye. B ：謝謝Sally ，再見。

    Accident

    The river ， you see， was never really safe at that time of the year-
