There are so many ways to express the spirit of the holiday season with colleagues from difference countries in an international school. In this Christmas dinner, teachers were sending their season greetings to each other, and communicated our frech experience in this country. How do you celebrate Christmas and New Year in your country? How is your first experience of seeing a doctor in China?

　　世界上有很多方式來表達(dá)圣誕祝福，尤其是在一個(gè)多語言環(huán)境的國(guó)際學(xué)校。 北京王府學(xué)校在這個(gè)圣誕節(jié)晚餐中，老師們互相表達(dá)著節(jié)日的問候，分享在中國(guó)的新鮮體驗(yàn)。你在家里怎樣慶祝圣誕節(jié)和新年? 你次在中國(guó)看牙醫(yī)的體驗(yàn)如何?

　　Christmas could not be without little gitfts. Holiday cookies from the principal. And our dear colleagues, Altynai and David, arranged their little surprise for everyone—red Christmas stockings with coffee, candy, and other goodies were stuffed in them.

　　圣誕節(jié)當(dāng)然少不了小禮物。校長(zhǎng)精心準(zhǔn)備了節(jié)日餅干。同事Altynai和David為每個(gè)人都準(zhǔn)備了小驚喜—紅色的圣誕襪，裝著各種咖啡豆、糖果和其他小禮物。

　　There were a variety of cultures gathered in China, making this Christmas warm and special for us. It felt warm reminding us of the Christmas family dinner in our hometown. It was also special to spend time with our global teacher-family no matter the venue.

　　這次圣誕節(jié)很溫暖，使我們想起了家里的圣誕晚餐。這次圣誕節(jié)也很特別，來自不同國(guó)家的同事，聚集在一起，在哪里就不再那么重要了。

　　Donations to the Sun Village

　　The holiday season wouldn’t be complete without giving back to our community. With some publicity, teachers and students collected a total of 12 large boxes of clothes, stationary, books, and other items for the Sun Village in Beijingduring the month of December. Some students even filled an entire suitcase withbooks. Thiswas an opportunity not only to help those in need, but also to convey the concept of community service to the students. The sense of service and contribution to the society is like a small seed; we, as educators of students, help plant it, water it and fertilize it, hoping to see it grow into a big tree.On December 29th, nine students came along with three teachers to deliver the donations to the Sun Village, which serves children whose parents are incarcerated. While only housing 63 children right now,they are also sponsoring about 10,000 kids all over China in impoverished areas. Some items we donated will be used in the village, and some will be given out to others that need them even more.

　　對(duì)我們來說，公益活動(dòng)會(huì)讓這個(gè)節(jié)日更加有意義。12月期間，老師和學(xué)生們?yōu)樘�陽村收集�?2個(gè)大箱子的衣服、文具、書籍和其他物品。這不僅是一個(gè)慈善的機(jī)會(huì)，也在一個(gè)向?qū)W生傳達(dá)社區(qū)服務(wù)理念的機(jī)會(huì)。服務(wù)意識(shí)和對(duì)社會(huì)的貢獻(xiàn)理念就像一粒種子。作為教師，我們?yōu)檫@些種子澆水和施肥，看著它長(zhǎng)成大樹。12月29日，九名學(xué)生和三名教師一同前往太陽村，為那些父母不在身邊的孩子們送去愛心。除了太陽村的孩子們，我們還參與捐助了全國(guó)其他地區(qū)的10,000個(gè)孩子。捐贈(zèng)的物品一部分給孩子們使用，另外一部分給其他需要的人。

　　After talking to the Sun Village representative who received us, BRFLS Junior High intended to continue working with them in the future in the following aspects: 1 - help tutor their kids on Fridays (their most urgent need currently); 2 - Help them with their fruit/vegetable farming---either labor work or help them sell (right now it's strawberries); 3 - Fundraise for them (large amount of money is needed for daily operation).

　　在這個(gè)社會(huì)服務(wù)項(xiàng)目中，王府學(xué)校的初中學(xué)生將繼續(xù)為這里的孩子提供幫助，這些包括：1. 周五幫孩子們補(bǔ)習(xí)功課 (他們目前最迫切的需要);2. 幫助學(xué)生種植蔬果并出售(現(xiàn)在主要是草莓);3. 為學(xué)�；I集經(jīng)費(fèi)(主要用來維持日常運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn))。

　　e were pleased to see that our little student volunteers were quite attentive when listening to the village representative, and also asked questions and raised ideas for possible ways to help. Let’s continue to share with our students the spirit of the community service, and the spirit of social responsibility for the rest of the school year!

　　我們很高興地看到，我們的學(xué)生志愿者在聽村長(zhǎng)的發(fā)言時(shí)，都非常專注。不僅提出了問題，還進(jìn)一步提出了解決方案。在今后的日子里，我們會(huì)繼續(xù)趁著節(jié)日的契機(jī)，教導(dǎo)學(xué)生幫助他人，承擔(dān)更多的社會(huì)責(zé)任!
