北卡羅萊納州立大學(xué)11名教育專業(yè)學(xué)生的王府實(shí)習(xí)記

  來(lái)自美國(guó)北卡羅萊納州立大學(xué)(下文簡(jiǎn)稱“北卡”)的11名實(shí)習(xí)生們?cè)谶^(guò)去一個(gè)月的時(shí)間里深入王府生活,給同學(xué)們上課、一起春游,分享了文化知識(shí)及相對(duì)應(yīng)的美國(guó)課程。同時(shí),北京王府學(xué)校的移動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)、分層教育和中文、剪紙課程等給北卡的實(shí)習(xí)生們也留下了深刻的印象。德國(guó)的教育學(xué)家雅斯貝爾斯說(shuō)過(guò),“教育的本質(zhì)意味著,一棵樹搖動(dòng)另一棵樹,一朵云推動(dòng)另一朵云,一個(gè)靈魂喚醒另一個(gè)靈魂”。我們相信,這僅僅是個(gè)開始,知識(shí)內(nèi)容的傳授、文化的交流會(huì)一直在兩校間傳遞,永不停止。

  For the past month, eleven interns from North Carolina State University (NCSU) went deep into our campus to explore life and learning at BRS, as well as to share American culture with our students. They were especially impressed by BRS’ world-class resources and programs, such as mobile learning and level-based teaching, as well as the integration of Western and Eastern practices, particularly enjoying being introduced to Chinese language and paper-cutting. In the words of the German education expert, Karl Theodor Jaspers, “Education is a tree shaking another tree, a cloud nudging another a cloud, and a soul awakening another soul.” We hope and believe that the mutual exchange of education and culture between BRS and NCSU will continue far into the future.

  學(xué)習(xí)篇

  北京王府學(xué)校為美國(guó)教育專業(yè)的畢業(yè)生提供了國(guó)際化的實(shí)習(xí)平臺(tái),讓她們有了人生次ESL教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn),并為每位實(shí)習(xí)生都安排了一對(duì)一的指導(dǎo)老師。跨國(guó)界的教育思維理念和先進(jìn)的教學(xué)設(shè)備不僅讓實(shí)習(xí)生們?cè)诖舜笳谷_,同時(shí)也形成了學(xué)校良好的品牌效應(yīng),不斷吸引著符合條件的外教們,為我們豐富的外教儲(chǔ)備提供源源不斷的能量。

  幼兒園

  Kayla在幼兒園實(shí)習(xí)的一個(gè)月里,非常積極的參與到幼兒園的學(xué)習(xí)生活當(dāng)中。她每天早晨要給3-5歲不同階段的小朋友們上課,下午也有三節(jié)課的安排。她經(jīng)常會(huì)和導(dǎo)師討論怎么教小朋友們說(shuō)英語(yǔ)以及如何吸引小朋友們的注意力。她同時(shí)也給幼兒園小朋友們帶來(lái)了很多新的歌曲和游戲。

  小學(xué)部

  小學(xué)部在以往安排實(shí)習(xí)生實(shí)習(xí)工作的基礎(chǔ)上,就實(shí)習(xí)生的到來(lái)進(jìn)行了周密的安排,為不同專項(xiàng)的實(shí)習(xí)生安排有相關(guān)教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)的指導(dǎo)教師,并為實(shí)習(xí)生準(zhǔn)備了工作夾,提供了學(xué)部校歷、作息時(shí)間、指導(dǎo)教師分課表、培訓(xùn)列表等素材供實(shí)習(xí)生們參考。

  此次的導(dǎo)師安排了學(xué)部中有突出貢獻(xiàn)的外教作為指導(dǎo)教師,便于實(shí)習(xí)生更好的體驗(yàn)外國(guó)人在中國(guó)授課的實(shí)際體驗(yàn)。

  根據(jù)實(shí)習(xí)生在校區(qū)實(shí)習(xí)五周的工作安排,小學(xué)部分周次為實(shí)習(xí)生安排了觀摩指導(dǎo)教師上課、在指導(dǎo)教師指導(dǎo)下上課以及獨(dú)立授課等層層遞進(jìn)的實(shí)習(xí)實(shí)操模式,設(shè)身處地的為實(shí)習(xí)生提供學(xué)習(xí)和體驗(yàn)的空間和環(huán)境。在每周一次的指導(dǎo)教師/實(shí)習(xí)生例會(huì)上,指導(dǎo)教師與實(shí)習(xí)生分享、評(píng)價(jià)其實(shí)習(xí)表現(xiàn),給予實(shí)習(xí)生們暖心的指導(dǎo)。

  初中部

  科學(xué)組的Nelia在生物組代瑩老師的指導(dǎo)下,參加了初一生物組的聯(lián)合備課,跟隨不同的老師聽課學(xué)習(xí)。第三周起,開始走上講臺(tái),為七年級(jí)孩子們教授科學(xué)課程。她的課程設(shè)計(jì)非常新穎,通過(guò)多樣的活動(dòng)設(shè)計(jì)清晰地讓孩子學(xué)習(xí)了habitats和adaptation的相關(guān)知識(shí)。即使年級(jí)較小的七年級(jí)孩子也表示能理解90%以上的全英內(nèi)容,課堂參與也非常積極。期間,還使用我校的移動(dòng)教學(xué)教室,在iPad的輔助下為孩子們帶來(lái)了一堂獨(dú)特的生物課。在短短的時(shí)間內(nèi),積極學(xué)習(xí)我校開展的IB體系和移動(dòng)教學(xué)系統(tǒng)。

  數(shù)學(xué)組的Rayven積極參與聽課,和她的導(dǎo)師魏吉龍老師一起經(jīng)歷了八年級(jí)和九年級(jí)的大半數(shù)學(xué)課,與孩子們也建立了較好的溝通。在學(xué)校的安排下,Rayven做了充足的準(zhǔn)備,為八年級(jí)的孩子們上了多節(jié)關(guān)于一次函數(shù)的課程。孩子們反映較好,對(duì)于外教的教學(xué)形式也很感興趣。(Rayven和魏老師就移動(dòng)教學(xué)也進(jìn)行交流,還促成了生動(dòng)的一課——“移動(dòng)教學(xué)之Kahoot教學(xué)趣味比賽”,可點(diǎn)擊“閱讀原文”進(jìn)行了解)。

  高中部

  Libby是北卡數(shù)學(xué)教育專業(yè)的學(xué)生。在王府,她被安排10年級(jí),教授precalculus課程。在這幾周的時(shí)間內(nèi),她像一名真正的老師一樣,用自己的耐心、善良以及扎實(shí)的數(shù)學(xué)教育背景,贏得了學(xué)生們的尊敬。她幫助同學(xué)們克服一個(gè)又一個(gè)數(shù)學(xué)難題,決不放棄任何一個(gè)學(xué)生。

  娛樂(lè)篇

  4月12日的小學(xué)部春游活動(dòng),全部實(shí)習(xí)生跟隨學(xué)生來(lái)到香山植物園,與指導(dǎo)老師一起陪伴小學(xué)生們歡度美好的春天。

  4月27日,初中部實(shí)習(xí)生們跟隨學(xué)生來(lái)到歡樂(lè)谷,體驗(yàn)各種游樂(lè)項(xiàng)目。

  在王府,校方特意為實(shí)習(xí)生們安排了中文和剪紙課程,放松的同時(shí)又很好的學(xué)習(xí)到了中國(guó)文化。

  告白篇

  每位實(shí)習(xí)生都非常感激也異常珍惜王府提供的實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì),臨行之際,她們對(duì)王府說(shuō):

  Abigail

  I really enjoyed my stay here at BRS. The students are all so kind and generous. They have all welcomed me and made me enjoy coming to school everyday. I think that there could be more beneficial curriculums that are put into place to provide more consistency within the teaching to benefit not only the students, but the teachers as well. I am thankful for my time here at BRS.

  Allison

  I like that the students within in a class get along so well and really seem to love their teachers. I can hear students getting excited when they see teachers in the hallway and my students always say hello when they see me.

  I liked the apartment and the library! The librarians are very nice. I loved how the staff in the elementary school listened to our ideas just as we listened to theirs.

  Kayla

  I like how hospitable everyone is, how much the kids like having me in the classroom and enjoying seeing and interacting with me. Everyone was understanding of anything I needed help with and did everything they could to make the stay great.

  Rayven

  I really like how all of the teachers in a department share an office. This gives the teachers an opportunity to collaborate during the day. It also provides the students with one location to go for each subject. The teachers and staff have been very friendly and helpful. Both the FTAO and my mentor teacher have answered any questions and been more than willing to help with anything I needed.

  I love the students here. They are so sweet, and my mentor literally let me do any lessons I wanted with the class.

  Rachel

  I like the relationships between teachers here at BRS. I like that they are constantly observing and learning from one another in order to improve their teaching. I also like that there are several professional development trainings offered for teachers each month. The school itself is also beautifully kept.

  I was most impressed with the sense of history in China. There were so many places to see and experience. I loved being able to learn about Chinese culture through the experience. I was able to see an accurate picture of what China is actually like.

  I thought the living arrangement was nice but would have liked to have wifi access just so I could contact my family when needed. I also really liked the cafeteria food and café, both were very good and the working staff was very sweet and accommodating. I like the students in the classroom and my mentor teacher very much!

  I have enjoyed the students and other teachers the most. They have been very helpful and welcoming.
