圣火采集：torch lighting

　　A backup plan was successfully rehearsed yesterday to ensure that bad weather does not dampen the torch-lighting ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Games, today.
　　為保證今天在奧運(yùn)會(huì)的發(fā)祥地古奧林匹亞進(jìn)行的北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)圣火采集儀式不會(huì)被糟糕的天氣所破壞，點(diǎn)火備用方案于昨天成功彩排。
　　該報(bào)道中，torch-lighting 就是“火炬點(diǎn)火”或者“圣火采集”的意思，也可譯成 flame-lighting。The torch-lighting ceremony of the Beijing Olympics就是“北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)圣火采集儀式”。如果要表達(dá)“點(diǎn)燃火炬”的意思，可以用light the torch，light用作動(dòng)詞的時(shí)候，就是“點(diǎn)燃，變亮”的意思。
