Dialogue Script

    Mom ： OK ！ Here are your tickets！ Are you ready for a fun day at
Disneyland？

    Tony： Yeah ！ Let's go ！

    Mom ： Tony ！ Get back here！ Now what are the rules ？

    Tony： No running. Now let's go ！（pulls on his mom's shirt）

    Mom ： And no tugging at my clothes ！ We've got all day. There's
no rush.

    Tony： OK. But I want to ride all the rides.

    Mom ： You can ride as many as you want. Cool your jets ！ It's only
ten in the morning！

    （In the souvenir shop）

    Tony： Look at this ， Mom！ A Monsters Inc. backpack ！ I need one
of these for school ！

    Mom ： We just walked into the park. If you buy anything now， you'll
have to lug it around all day.

    Tony： OK ！ But remember that's what I want to get ！

    Mom ： OK ， but I bet you'll change your mind. There are more souvenirs
than you can count. You'll see.

    Tony： Look outside ！ There's Goofy！ He's my favorite ！ Let's take
a picture with him！

    Mom ： OK. But don't butt in line. You'll have to wait your turn.

    講解：

    1.對話中，Tony和媽媽來到了迪斯尼樂園玩，媽媽已經買好了門票。在迪斯
尼樂園愉快的一天就要開始了。Tony興奮極了，突然就跑開了，沒想到被媽媽又
拽了回來。媽媽問他，我們都講好了哪些規(guī)矩呀。Now what are the rules？ rule
就是指“規(guī)矩，規(guī)則”。比如說，The rule is that someone must be on duty
at all times. 按照規(guī)定，任何時候都需要有人值班。rule這個詞還可以表示
“慣常的做法，習慣”，比如說，My rule is to get up at seven everyday.
我習慣每天七點起床。She made a rule of eating an apple a day. 她每天一
定要吃一個蘋果。

    2.那媽媽和Tony定的規(guī)矩是什么呢？No running. 就是“不準亂跑”。Tony
說知道了，又拉媽媽的衣服。媽媽又說，And no tugging at my clothes！不許
拉我的衣服。tug at sth這個詞組表示“用力拉或拖某物”，She tugged at my
sleeve and pointed to him.她拉了拉我的袖子，又指了指他。

    3.媽媽說，我們有一整天的時間來玩，所以不用著急，There's no rush. rush
在這里表示“急促的動作，沖，奔”，比如說，He made a rush for the door.
他沖到門前。People were trampled in the headlong rush.大家拼命向前涌，
踩著了很多人。

    4.帶小孩子去游樂園玩，一定要小心，因為人很多，小孩很容易發(fā)生意外或
者走丟，有必要教孩子守守規(guī)矩。在這里我們就告訴大家一些教規(guī)矩的好用句子，
例如買票的時候我們就可以說Stay next to me ， or you'll get lost ！跟緊
我，要不然你會走丟。Don't talk so loud！/ Don't shout ！不要大聲喧嘩！
小孩子不聽話的時候，可以說See how good all the other children are being.
看其他的小孩子多聽話呀。還有，Don't go across that line ！不要越過那條
線。排隊等候的時候，可以告訴孩子You need to be patient. 你要有耐心。孩
子們互相打鬧的時候，可以說Stop fighting with your big brother/little sister.
不要跟哥哥/ 妹妹打來打去的。小孩子不聽話，可以嚇唬他們，I'm gonna tell
your dad/mom how you've been acting up. 你這么淘氣，我要告訴你的爸爸或
者媽媽了。

    5. Tony 說他想每一樣都玩到！媽媽說隨你想玩多少都行，但是不要那么心
急，現(xiàn)在才早上10點鐘。Cool your jets！這個句子表示“別那么急”。當有人
匆匆忙忙，橫沖直撞的時候，你就可以用到這句話。我們用一個對話作例子：-
We have to run to catch the start of the movie！ - Cool your jets ！ The
previews will be ten minutes long. -我們得跑起來才能趕上電影開始。- 別
那么著急！電影預告片就得有10分鐘。

    6.一會，Tony和媽媽有來到了紀念品商店。在商店里Tony看中了一款背包，
上面有怪獸電力公司的logo，就是標志。 Monsters Inc.是一部電影的名字，那
么A Monsters Inc. backpack就是指印有《怪獸電力公司》標志的背包，現(xiàn)在能
看到很多這樣印有某種標志的東西，書包啊，T 恤什么的。媽媽說，他們才剛進
迪斯尼樂園，如果現(xiàn)在就買了這個背包，就得一整天拖著他走來走去的，很麻煩。

    7. lug表示“用力拉或者拖某物”，多指比較大的物件。比如說，She's lugging
a heavy suitcase up the stairs. 她正拖著一個沉重的箱子上樓。那么lug sth
around all day，She had to lug the kids around all day. 她得整天帶著孩
子。Tony覺得媽媽說的有道理，不過他讓媽媽不要忘記這個背包是一定要買的。
不過媽媽猜他會改變主意的，因為迪斯尼樂園里面好玩好看的東西太多了。

    8.也許Tony看見了其他的紀念品就把這個背包忘了呢。這時他看見了Goofy ，
就是高菲狗，是迪斯尼卡通片里面的一個人物，這里是指在迪斯尼樂園里穿道具
服裝的卡通人物，后面我們還會提到很多，比如說Pluto 、Buzz Lightyear等等。
Goofy 是Tony最喜歡的一個卡通形象。他嚷著要去跟Goofy 拍照。

    9.但是媽媽告訴他不要插隊，要等到輪到他的時候。butt在這里是一個動詞，
表示“用頭撞或頂”，對話中的butt in line就是“插隊”的意思。butt in on
sb/sth還可以表示“干擾某人，干涉某事物”，比如說，Don't butt in like that
when I'm speaking ！我說話的時候別這樣打斷我的話。May I butt in on your
conversation？我可以插句話嗎？

    10. wait one's turn 就是“等輪到某人”。
