2020年初爆發(fā)的新型冠狀病毒疫情牽動(dòng)著億萬(wàn)人民的心。面對(duì)這場(chǎng)沒(méi)有硝煙的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，無(wú)數(shù)醫(yī)務(wù)工作者、解放軍、志愿者、各行各業(yè)愛崗敬業(yè)的人們挺身而出，大家萬(wàn)眾一心，眾志成城，抗擊疫情。為了保障師生的生命安全和身體健康，達(dá)羅捷派學(xué)院響應(yīng)號(hào)召，將學(xué)生返校日期延后。但停課不停學(xué)，達(dá)羅捷派于2月17日正式在云端開學(xué)啦!

　　我們不希望同學(xué)們因疫情在家線上學(xué)習(xí)，而得到低于在校教學(xué)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷，而是希望我們的學(xué)生能夠結(jié)合當(dāng)下的特殊環(huán)境背景，繼續(xù)貫徹進(jìn)行達(dá)羅捷派學(xué)院辦校以來(lái)就倡導(dǎo)的項(xiàng)目制創(chuàng)新學(xué)習(xí)，讓同學(xué)們?cè)诩覍W(xué)習(xí)也能擁有一段更有價(jià)值、更有意義、難忘又特殊的學(xué)習(xí)經(jīng)歷。為此，達(dá)羅捷派Principal Jing帶領(lǐng)教研團(tuán)隊(duì)日以繼夜地在進(jìn)行課程創(chuàng)新。學(xué)校新學(xué)期的教學(xué)將根據(jù)當(dāng)前的社會(huì)背景進(jìn)行全面更新，所有的課程都圍繞疫情相關(guān)主題的項(xiàng)目式學(xué)習(xí)(PBL)開展。同學(xué)們將學(xué)到很多有用、有意義、有價(jià)值的內(nèi)容，并通過(guò)實(shí)際行動(dòng)去轉(zhuǎn)化自己的力量。

　　開學(xué)天，Principal Jing 在鏡頭前與全體師生共同分享了疫情沖擊下對(duì)于庚子新年的感悟，以及對(duì)未來(lái)的憧憬與期許。

　　Good morning, JPED students, faculty ，staff members and parents. I hope you guys have stayed safe and sound during the break. Well fed, well rested, some of you guys probably even picked up a new skill or acquired a new interest. I saw some of the photos in the group. Some of you guys cooked, Fabulous! Some of you even kept on reading, writing, learning. Awesome! I hope you guys are super excited for the new journey, new exciting and meaningful journey of the second semester of JPEDS 19-20 Year.

　　達(dá)羅捷派學(xué)院的同學(xué)、家長(zhǎng)以及教職員工們，早上好!在這個(gè)的沉重的春節(jié)假期，希望大家保持良好心態(tài)，幸福安康。常言道“福兮禍所倚”，當(dāng)我看到同學(xué)們開發(fā)了新興趣、學(xué)習(xí)到了新技能，我由衷的高興。在微信群中，你們親手制作的美食照片，讓我垂涎三尺;你們堅(jiān)持鍛煉、閱讀、創(chuàng)作的行為，讓我也備受感染。新學(xué)年伊始，我希望你們滿血回歸，對(duì)未來(lái)的旅程充滿期待。

　　<人生哪有那么多的來(lái)日方長(zhǎng)>

　　So let me start by telling you a little bit about what I’ve done for the past month，by sharing some of my personal stories. Because I believe the most personal can be the most creative sometimes - This quote is also used by 《寄生蟲》’s director. He brought back four Oscar’s prizes for this film just about last month. So Spring festival went really well for me, a lot of my distant relatives flew in town and I served as the host for them. We gathered around for all those six or seven days on 大年三十。

　　首先，我迫不及待地想與大家分享一下我的假期時(shí)光。今年，在奧斯卡斬獲四項(xiàng)大獎(jiǎng)的《寄生蟲》的導(dǎo)演秦俊浩先生曾引用了一句話，“最個(gè)人的東西就是最有創(chuàng)造力的”，送給大家共勉。疫情當(dāng)前，居家隔離，諸多不便，但因此，親人卻能齊聚一堂，談天說(shuō)地，這未嘗不是一種幸福。我作為一名職業(yè)女性，一個(gè)在海外獨(dú)自求學(xué)十余載的學(xué)者、一所國(guó)際學(xué)校的創(chuàng)始人，多數(shù)時(shí)候，家成了旅館;但我亦為人子，借此機(jī)會(huì)，能給老人多一些陪伴，是我多年的夙愿。之所以如此，這就要從我的成長(zhǎng)經(jīng)歷說(shuō)起了。

　　We spent a day at my grandma’s place. Despite her symptoms of Alzheimer ，that day, she was able to recognize all of us.She kept on telling everyone how great of a baby I was, For those of you who don’t know, she raised me till I was three and half years old. She told everyone I was an awesome baby, I never cried and I never peed my pants. Not sure to what degree ,are those are true. But In her vision ,I was a perfect baby. So that day when I got home, I couldn’t help but wonder several things.The first thing I couldn’t help but wonder is have I lived up to her standards? When she laid her eyes on my silly chubby face and held me close to her arms all the time. What expectations did she have for me? Have I lived up to it so far? But I’m not now, am I?

　　大家可能并不知道，三歲半前，我是在姥姥家 – 一個(gè)部隊(duì)大院兒里長(zhǎng)大的。記憶中的她對(duì)我的關(guān)懷無(wú)微不至。舉個(gè)例子，我從小便喜歡在夢(mèng)里創(chuàng)作，為了收集靈感，總是要她在睡覺(jué)前給我講故事講到入睡，有時(shí)一講便是一兩個(gè)小時(shí)。她卻從不覺(jué)得麻煩，還逢人便夸我是如何的溫暖懂事，從不哭鬧、從不尿褲子的生活瑣碎都令她如數(shù)家珍。我們暫且不去核實(shí)老人的講述是不是真實(shí)，但是那份愛，如今的那份牽掛，是真實(shí)的。然而，歲月就是一把利刃，如今的姥姥，不再年輕，甚至已經(jīng)出現(xiàn)了一些阿爾茲海默癥的癥狀，但在大年三十那天她還是準(zhǔn)確的認(rèn)出了我們所有人。依舊用那微弱的聲音夸贊著我曾經(jīng)是多么可愛溫暖的小寶貝。此時(shí)的我，百感交集。捫心自問(wèn)，許多年前，當(dāng)姥姥望著襁褓中的小嬰兒時(shí)，她的期許是什么呢?我達(dá)到了嗎?倘若沒(méi)有，那還有多遠(yuǎn)呢?當(dāng)她漸漸老去，我是她的依靠嗎?我能做些什么呢?

　　I mean I definitely envisioned me taking care of her when she’s getting older and incapable of taking care of herself.But I’m not now, am I? I have made excuses to come and see her only once every other week, sometimes when I travel, once every month. By telling myself I’m too busy, I’m a career woman, I’m running a school. But I work really, really hard right now, so that in 5 or 10 years I can spend real quality time with her. But deep inside, I know sometimes later never comes, and I already know I’ll regret this one day.

　　暗自許下的諾言，被淹沒(méi)在一次次借口中。是的，我作為一名創(chuàng)業(yè)者，有時(shí)實(shí)在是忙的脫不開身。我想，我認(rèn)真努力的工作5年、10年，我就能有時(shí)間好好陪伴姥姥了。但在內(nèi)心深處，我知道，人生哪有那么多的來(lái)日方長(zhǎng)，我有一定會(huì)后悔。

　　或許，實(shí)現(xiàn)自己的價(jià)值，才是對(duì)她最大的回報(bào)吧。

　　既然選擇了遠(yuǎn)方，便只顧風(fēng)雨兼程 – 這是父母對(duì)我辦學(xué)初期便有的告誡。

　　<自省的力量>

　　So after that, on a happier Note. I’ve finally mastered the skill in mahjong under a lot of training from my aunties. We played from dawn to night, and then night to dawn again. I even practiced on my cell phone. I was obsessed with getting better at it, that whole week I did nothing but mahjong, and then suddenly I remembered when I was little, there had always been people playing mahjong at my house, all the time. And I never understood why they would waste their valuable time to do such a repetitive thing. They became so fatigued and loud and there was always a loser who’s not happy at all. Why would adults do such a tedious thing and call it fun? Why would they then forbid kids to play with their friends and waste time, I just remember writing on my diary, how comes fun means such different things for different people? Shouldn’t fun mean doing meaningful things? Shouldn’t fun be exploring new things? New ideologies? Making new friends? Under so much influence of super hero movies and Disney films and reading the stories of these great people in history that have saved our nation from time to time.This is something I believed：fun should mean changing the world!

　　從姥姥家回來(lái)后，在阿姨們的訓(xùn)練下，我終于又掌握了一個(gè)新技能——打麻將，我們不分晝夜的一起玩，而我一門心思的想要變得更加熟練，我“無(wú)所不用”，以至于整整一周的時(shí)間都被這件事情充斥著。我突然回憶起，小時(shí)候家里也總是有大人們?cè)诖蚵閷ⅰＮ彝耆�不��，為什么要浪費(fèi)寶貴的時(shí)間，樂(lè)此不疲的做這些重復(fù)性的事情呢?為什么大人們會(huì)禁止小孩兒與朋友們一起玩耍虛度光陰呢?于是我在日記中寫道：“為什么不同的人對(duì)于有趣事物的定義會(huì)如此的不同呢?有趣是做有意義的事情嗎?有趣是探索新鮮事物嗎?有趣是發(fā)現(xiàn)全新的意識(shí)形態(tài)嗎?有趣是結(jié)交新朋友嗎?”這件事困擾了我很久，直到在超級(jí)英雄和迪尼斯電影的巨大影響以及閱讀那些一次又一次拯救國(guó)家于危難的偉大人物故事后，我相信：改變世界才“應(yīng)該”被定義成有趣的事情。”

　　I wrote this when I was 13: Dear diary, Please remember only changing the world should be fun for you, playing mahjong should not be one of the fun things. Stay focused! But.. now You see? I played ! Even worse than that, I was unapologetic, I told myself this is a family bonding activity. I should not be ashamed of breaking that vow to my dear dear diary - which was my closest and most trustworthy friend when I was young and went through purity and felt lonely. So what have indeed changed? Is baby Pei smarter than the adult Pei with all that degrees and experiences? I don’t have the answer for that, but from now on, I’ll be visiting and consulting baby Pei a lot more than before. She seems to embrace more compassion and she is broader.So I just want to wraps up by saying that "Often in life, we don’t live up to our hopes and dreams, as a kid, it’s easy to fall off track. Things change Gradually without us noticing it. Sometimes it’s because the environment isn’t right, sometimes it’s because we as humans naturally seek for comfort , we don’t want to get tired, we don’t want to get frustrated, so we procrastinate, so we retreat, so we get lazy and stay in our comfort zones, but i‘m telling you now, hey guys, guys, it’s a trap!! The greatest minds reach success by delaying their satisfaction, there’s a whole lot research done on that topic, that’s why we have each other here as classmates, as friends, as family members, as teachers and students. So we would watch out for each others and catch each others when we fall of track. so that’s all for one, and one for all, JPEDERS!”

　　13歲的時(shí)候，我在日記本中又寫下了這樣一段話：“親愛的日記，請(qǐng)記住，改變世界對(duì)你來(lái)說(shuō)應(yīng)該是樂(lè)趣，打麻將不應(yīng)該是一件有趣的事情。初心不能改變!”但是，現(xiàn)在如你們所見，我開始玩麻將了!更糟糕的是，我對(duì)此毫無(wú)歉意，并催眠自己—這只是家庭聚會(huì)。事實(shí)上，我不應(yīng)該違背在青春年少時(shí)，對(duì)那些最親密的、最值得信賴的仿佛朋友一般的日記本許下的諾言。我到底發(fā)生了怎樣的改變呢?難道受過(guò)良好教育、擁有更多人生閱歷的大敬沛變得沒(méi)有童年時(shí)的小敬沛那么聰明了嗎?對(duì)于這個(gè)問(wèn)題，我沒(méi)有答案。但從現(xiàn)在開始，我會(huì)更多的向內(nèi)探索，與內(nèi)心中的小敬沛暢聊。她似乎擁有無(wú)限的同情心，還更勇敢。所以 "在生活中，我們通常很容易就會(huì)偏離軌道，無(wú)法履行小時(shí)候的希望和夢(mèng)想。因?yàn)槭虑闀?huì)在我們沒(méi)有注意到的情況下逐漸發(fā)生改變。又是因?yàn)槲覀內(nèi)祟惐灸艿膶で笫孢m感，我們不想疲累，不想懊惱，所以我們開始拖延，開始退卻，開始懶惰，甚至一直停留在自己的舒適圈。那些偉人，是通過(guò)延遲自己的滿足感而取得成功，這無(wú)可質(zhì)疑。我很慶幸，現(xiàn)在的達(dá)羅捷派學(xué)院能夠承載這份期待和改變，當(dāng)我們跌倒和偏離軌道的時(shí)候，互相扶持。人人為我，我為人人!"

　　<責(zé)任與擔(dān)當(dāng)>

　　接下來(lái)的話題可能多少沉重了些，卻值得深思，它不僅關(guān)乎你我，也是國(guó)情下的一番思考。

　　We are in this together!! To take this into a larger scope, As you all know, this year has started really rough in China, we are the heat now once again in global news all over the world. It aches my heart to watch the feeds that are exaggerating with all kinds of different interests that wants to view things in a bad angle. It’s already devastating our economy and jeopardizing our political stance alongside with many other traumas that would take time to heal. Do we need selfish non-constructive criticisms from anyone? Perhaps not. So I could‘t stop but wonder again, catastrophe happens like this once a while, why? Perhaps it brings out the best and worst from people. Because someone said before “Only in danger, we start to see light in humanity.“

　　“一個(gè)人可以走的很快，但是，一個(gè)團(tuán)隊(duì)可以走的更遠(yuǎn)。”我們是命運(yùn)的共同體。今年注定是不平凡的一年，中國(guó)再次經(jīng)歷了疫病的考驗(yàn)，而成為全球的焦點(diǎn)。對(duì)此，大家眾說(shuō)紛紜，但當(dāng)我看到那些很不負(fù)責(zé)且夸大其詞的評(píng)論，我的心就很沉重。輿論的力量不可小覷，疫情已經(jīng)對(duì)經(jīng)濟(jì)帶來(lái)了毀滅性的打擊，同時(shí)伴隨著久治難愈的創(chuàng)傷，危及到了我們的國(guó)際形象。為此我不得不質(zhì)疑，我們需要?jiǎng)e人自私的、非建設(shè)性的批評(píng)嗎?這樣的情況時(shí)有發(fā)生，究竟是為什么?難道只是為了激發(fā)出人性中與最壞的一面嗎?或許真應(yīng)了那句話：“只有在危難中，我們才能看到人性的光芒。”

　　My heart and spirit are with the nurses and doctors that volunteered to be on the front line， working 20 or 24 hours per day, sacrificing their time with beloved family, and being in danger of getting infected. From the billions of dollars , from private sectors to the janitor, that was caught on film to donate 10,000 yuan at the Non profit’s reception. Just about three days ago, I saw a video recorded a grandma donating all of her savings of 50,000 rmb to the police station, simply said - our nation is in huge trouble, I want to help. I saw that and it brought tears to my eyes. She lived alone and lived off 2000 kuai of pension money and she was willing to give all of her savings. And then I thought, that’s great! that’s love! that’s compassion. But how is that ok? You know, Dr. 鐘南山 is 86 years old and he is leading our medical team at the front line. Why are you still young, and capable and sometimes even get bored at home, I don’t know what you are feeling exactly, but whatever you are feeling. Let‘s start to take on these responsibilities on our own shoulders gradually. We don’t have to take on all of it, but gradually , step by step, one by one.

　　“危難之際，大愛無(wú)邊。”此時(shí)，我也在時(shí)刻牽掛著那些奮戰(zhàn)在一線、超負(fù)荷工作的醫(yī)護(hù)人員們，他們犧牲了與家人團(tuán)聚的時(shí)間，冒著被感染的危險(xiǎn)沖在線。國(guó)人感恩于這一份勇敢和擔(dān)當(dāng)。除此之外，無(wú)論是那些個(gè)人捐贈(zèng)的數(shù)以億計(jì)的善款，還是一名門衛(wèi)在非盈利組織服務(wù)處留下的1萬(wàn)元人民幣，這些都展示了一個(gè)個(gè)平凡而又不平庸的人的情懷。其中，我最想與大家分享的是在三天前，我看到一段錄像，當(dāng)一位奶奶把她的積蓄盡數(shù)捐出后，只樸實(shí)地說(shuō)道：“我們國(guó)家有大麻煩了，我想幫忙。”霎時(shí)，我的淚水奪眶而出。一個(gè)獨(dú)居的老人，靠2000人民幣的養(yǎng)老金過(guò)活，是什么讓她如此慷慨?鐘南山院士已經(jīng)86歲高齡了，他義無(wú)反顧地沖在前線，領(lǐng)導(dǎo)著我們的醫(yī)療隊(duì)伍與疫情奮戰(zhàn)，自是帶給了我們另一種思考和感動(dòng)。這可能是他們這一代經(jīng)歷過(guò)國(guó)家抗戰(zhàn)、革命、再到一步步開放、發(fā)展、富強(qiáng)的老人們特有的愛國(guó)主義情懷和擔(dān)當(dāng)吧!因此，年輕且應(yīng)該有為的你，請(qǐng)肩負(fù)起屬于自己的那份責(zé)任吧。災(zāi)難無(wú)情人有情，我們定能早日打勝這場(chǎng)沒(méi)有硝煙的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)。

　　And on that note, let’s take a good 10 seconds to give our most sincere prayer to those that have injured or dead from this epidemic and for those that have fought in danger. (ten second’s later)

　　說(shuō)到這里，我希望大家能用10秒鐘的時(shí)間，為那些在這場(chǎng)瘟疫中受傷或死亡的人們，以及那些在危險(xiǎn)中戰(zhàn)斗的人們，獻(xiàn)上我們最真誠(chéng)的祈禱。

　　<如果我會(huì)發(fā)光，就不必害怕黑暗>

　　I know Some might even say, well, that’s their role to play, as nurses and doctors . Then I will raise you with this question, what is our role to play as educators and as students— the future of the country, especially the at JPED，that we pride ourselves with compassion and innovation? How do we, at this moment ,embrace our belief and faith when it’s most needed? Needless to say, we become what we do and what we say. our actions and words shape us into who we become. So let me ask you this question, what did you truly aspire to be when you joined JPED? When you go abroad one day and perhaps come back one day, how will you be proud of your country? And most importantly, how will your country be proud of you?

　　Most of you probably have seen In the short film , I know there are many basketball fans and lovers or players out there in our school. In that short film directed by Kobe Bryant, he says “my dear basketball, you asked me for my hustle, but I gave you all my heart and soul.” I know there are people who will give their heart and soul to this place we built together, and now it’s time for us to take on these challenges together , as one, to solve some of the questions, some of the puzzling questions that we are facing as a nation right now.

　　你們當(dāng)中很多都熱愛籃球，可能都看過(guò)短片《親愛的籃球》，那一句”親愛的籃球，你只要我揮灑汗水，我卻獻(xiàn)上了畢生心血”的告白不僅詮釋了科比布萊恩特的人生，也為我們開啟了一種可能。我知道大家全心全意投入到這個(gè)地方，一起建設(shè)，現(xiàn)在是時(shí)候讓我們一起面對(duì)這些挑戰(zhàn)，作為一個(gè)整體，來(lái)解決一些問(wèn)題，一些我們國(guó)家現(xiàn)在面臨的令人困惑的問(wèn)題。生活中，挑戰(zhàn)無(wú)處不在，但無(wú)論何時(shí)，請(qǐng)不忘初心，勇敢面對(duì)，對(duì)己，對(duì)國(guó)，義無(wú)反顧。

　　So I’m not sure what exactly lays ahead, when are we allowed to come back to school and have classes again. But this I know for sure, with unity and common value, we stand, with selfish and greed and laziness, we will collapse. This I know for sure. Together, let’s take this time to act on solving some of our most pressing issues, cherish everyday when we are still alive and energetic and capable of thinking and doing.

　　If you share the same value and interest of being compassionate and innovative and daring. Together we will move mountains, make waves, and change lives.; I hope you still remember the vows you’ve taken on the first day of school. If not, let’s repeat together:we dare to explore when others retreat.we dare to speak when others remain silent.we dare to give more when others turn their backs.

　　很開心和大家聊著這么多，也許現(xiàn)在我無(wú)法預(yù)測(cè)接下來(lái)會(huì)發(fā)生什么，甚至連什么時(shí)候可以回到我們一磚一瓦建設(shè)起的校園重新上課也不得而知。但我可以肯定的是，只要我們團(tuán)結(jié)一致，克服自私、懶惰，一切都會(huì)好起來(lái)，我們就會(huì)走向更好，這點(diǎn)我很確定。

　　讓我們一起利用這段時(shí)間來(lái)解決最緊迫的問(wèn)題，珍惜我們精力充沛、自主思考和積極行動(dòng)的每。讓我們養(yǎng)精蓄銳，共同期待集體以全新面貌的回歸。我希望你們還記得開學(xué)天集體宣誓：我們勇于探索，即使他人退縮;我們敢于發(fā)聲，即使他人緘默;我們甘于奉獻(xiàn)，即使他人背棄;

　　Once again, never ask what our country can do for you, always remember to ask: what you can do for your country. Because believe it or not, in the worst time, it brings out the best of humanity.I believe in you, and let’s go!
