　　In the Northern Song Dynasty (北宋， 960－1127AD)，Xie Wuyi (謝無(wú)逸) and Pan Dalin (潘大臨) were good friends and both crazy about poem writing. 北宋時(shí)期，謝無(wú)逸與潘大臨是一對(duì)好朋友，他們都十分喜愛詩(shī)歌創(chuàng)作。

　　Though they were not in the same province,they made good use of correspondence for the poetries exchange. 雖然他們來自不同的省份，但他們經(jīng)常書信往來，進(jìn)行詩(shī)歌交流。

　　At that time,life was pretty hard for Pan Dalin,he was down and out,struggling a living hardly by borrowing from others.那時(shí)的潘大臨生活非常貧寒，靠著借貸艱難地生活著。

　　The traditional Double-ninth Day (重陽(yáng)節(jié)) was around the corner,in the small town where Pan lived,winds blew heavily and rains always poured. 重陽(yáng)節(jié)馬上就要到了，潘大臨居住的小鎮(zhèn)寒風(fēng)蕭瑟，秋雨綿綿。

　　One morning,Pan was shocked and moved by the bleak and amazingly beautiful scene outside when he opened the shaddering window.Being inspired by it,he rapidly got a pen and paper to write down one line of poem:"Double-ninth Day is coming, Wind and Rain Were Swept Through the Whole Town.” 一天早上，潘大臨打開門窗，立即被窗外凄美的景色所深深吸引了，于是詩(shī)興大發(fā)，取出筆墨紙硯，揮筆寫下“滿城風(fēng)雨近重陽(yáng)”。

　　Not until he fininshed the poem, his renter broke into his house,asking for the debts in a rash tone.當(dāng)他正準(zhǔn)備繼續(xù)寫作后面的詩(shī)句時(shí)，一個(gè)要債的人破門而入，粗魯?shù)叵蛩哌€債務(wù)。

　　His writing process was so crudely interrupted by the happenning that he had to deliver the incomplete poem to Xie Wuyi. 這樣一來，潘大臨的寫作也被打斷了，但他還是把寫的第一句詩(shī)趕快給好友謝無(wú)逸寄了過去，讓他共同分享寫作的快樂。

　　Unpredictably,the short sentence had since gained a great popularity aroud the country.出乎意料的是，這句詩(shī)很快就被傳開了，人們都覺得這句詩(shī)非常經(jīng)典。

　　After several generations,"Wind and Rain Were Swept Through the Whole Town”were still remembered by many people,but its original meaning was fading,instead,it now be used to describe a sensational thing that raise uproars in an area and widely talked by the citizens.特別是“滿城風(fēng)雨”這幾個(gè)字，后來演變成了成語(yǔ)，但不再是形容重陽(yáng)節(jié)的雨景，而用來比喻某一事件很轟動(dòng)，被人們所廣泛議論。
