　The trumpeter taken prisoner 號(hào)兵

   　A trumpeter was captured by his enemy in a battle.

　　When they were about to kill him, he begged them to have mercy on him.

　　"I am not a warrior," said he. "I only blow the trumpet. It cannot harm you; then why should you kill me?"

　　"You may not fight with a weapon," said the others, "but you encourage and guide your men to the fight."

號(hào)兵

　　●在一場(chǎng)戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中，有個(gè)號(hào)兵被敵人抓獲了。

　　●在他們準(zhǔn)備殺他時(shí)，他求他們對(duì)他仁慈一些。

　　●“我不是勇士，”他大聲叫道,“我僅有把銅號(hào)，它又不能傷人，你們?yōu)槭裁匆獨(dú)⑽夷?”

　　●“你沒(méi)有武器來(lái)戰(zhàn)斗，”敵人對(duì)他說(shuō),“但是你卻召集你們所有的士兵來(lái)攻打我們。”

　　寓意: 人們更痛恨那些慫恿他人作惡的人。
