1.audi,audit,aur---hear, “聽”
audience n 聽眾;觀眾

audible a 聽得見的;可聽的

下面舉一個(gè)例子,它是我在一個(gè)護(hù)士大會(huì)上聽到的。這個(gè)故事效果很好,因?yàn)槁牨妼?duì)醫(yī)生都有同樣的看法。

2.Back----- 向后
back a.后面的 ad.向后 v.倒退;支持 n.背;后面
background n.背景,經(jīng)歷;幕后
backward a.向后的,倒行的;遲鈍的 ad.向后,朝反方
drawback n.欠缺,缺點(diǎn);退還的關(guān)稅
feedback n.反饋;反應(yīng);回授
setback n.挫折;失效;復(fù)發(fā);倒退
1.So short-sighted Zysman junior gets stuck in the back row, and is rarely asked the improving questions posed by those insensitive teachers. (NETEM 2004, Text 2 , Paragraph 4)
因此近視的小Zysman就被插在了后排,這樣一來,粗心的教師提出的有助于提高的問題就很少會(huì)問到他。
2. As a result, they have lost the parachute they once had in times of financial setback —— a back-up earner (usually Mom) who could go into the workforce if the primary earner got laid off or fell sick. (NETEM 2007, Text 3, Paragraph 2)
結(jié)果,它們失去了在經(jīng)濟(jì)蕭條時(shí)期曾經(jīng)有過的緩解舉措 —— 一個(gè)后備掙錢者(通常是母親),她可以在家庭的主要掙錢者失業(yè)或者病倒的時(shí)候出去工作。
3.Friedman relies on a lean staff of 20 in Austin. Several of his staff members have military-intelligencebackgrounds. (NETEM 2003,Text 1,Paragraph 5)
在奧斯汀市,F(xiàn)riedman依靠的是為數(shù)不多的20名職員。他的職員當(dāng)中有好幾個(gè)人具有軍事情報(bào)工作背景。
4.I wouldn’t care success or failure, for I will only struggle ahead as long as I have been destined to the distance. I wouldn’t care the difficulties around, for what I can leave on the earth is only their view of my back since I have been marching toward the horizontal.
我不去想是否能夠成功,既然選擇了遠(yuǎn)方,便只顧風(fēng)雨兼程;我不去想,身后會(huì)不會(huì)襲來寒風(fēng)冷雨,既然目標(biāo)是地平線,留給世界的只能是背影。(與考研學(xué)子共勉!)
