班主任工作是影響人、培養(yǎng)人、塑造人的偉大工作，美國(guó)威力塔斯學(xué)校有幸邀請(qǐng)到了北京教育學(xué)院附中原校長(zhǎng)、西城區(qū)優(yōu)秀班主任張延華老師，為威校所有班主任帶來(lái)一場(chǎng)《情感、科學(xué)、藝術(shù)》主題沙龍講座。張校長(zhǎng)從班主任工作的重要性、工作核心方法及要素等方面深入淺出地給我們從思想深處啟發(fā)，指導(dǎo)，解釋答疑。

　　Veritas was honored to welcome the distinguished Principle Yanhuang Zhang who conducted an internal assessment on the condition of the school before she lead a discussion on class management.

　　張老師首先肯定了我們學(xué)校教學(xué)體系的完整性和作為美國(guó)學(xué)校本身對(duì)接國(guó)際留學(xué)的優(yōu)越性。同時(shí)也提出了提高教師隊(duì)伍專(zhuān)業(yè)性，尤其是班主任團(tuán)隊(duì)建設(shè)的重要性。優(yōu)秀班主任是情感、科學(xué)、藝術(shù)的結(jié)合。一定是教育教學(xué)雙肩挑，班主任水平體現(xiàn)一個(gè)學(xué)校的教學(xué)管理整體水平。班主任老師不僅培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)和生活習(xí)慣，還要引導(dǎo)孩子確立良好的人格和性格，樹(shù)立未來(lái)理想和目標(biāo)方向。

　　After careful review, Principle Zhang determined that Veritas’s school environment was quite conducive to student learning and language acquisition. In addition, Principle Zhang stated that the environment was warm and inviting and that the teacher’s displayed a high level of professionalism.

　　講座中重點(diǎn)提到做好班主任工作三要素：愛(ài)、尊重、責(zé)任。班主任工作要做到用心、用情、用力。要有正確的教育理念，有教育方法途徑，還要有奉獻(xiàn)精神。教育需要鋪墊、設(shè)計(jì)，自然會(huì)有良好的教育效果。同時(shí)要注意教育的長(zhǎng)期性和反復(fù)性。要不斷鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生把改變習(xí)慣轉(zhuǎn)化為養(yǎng)成習(xí)慣的過(guò)程。

　　During the discussion, Mrs. Zhang shared with us the three aspects of the “art of being a successful teacher” which consisted of: love, respect and responsibility. Though these are not new terms nor ideas shared among educational institutions, she however brought to light the intricacies of establishing such guidelines in assisting students both academically and behaviorally. For example, her first point was dedicated to teaching students to understand right from wrong in a critical thinking format. Right from wrong is easy to teach, but how to teach right from wrong in a critical thinking sense that involves sound reasoning.

　　短短的兩個(gè)小時(shí)，張老師理論聯(lián)系實(shí)際，聲情并茂的把自己多年從教的經(jīng)驗(yàn)，知無(wú)不言 、言無(wú)不盡的傳授給我們班主任。值得慶幸的是我們的班主任團(tuán)隊(duì)雖然年輕，但是除了具備專(zhuān)業(yè)知識(shí)能力，還都有一顆真正愛(ài)孩子的心，有對(duì)教育事業(yè)的滿(mǎn)腔熱忱。最后張老師現(xiàn)場(chǎng)又耐心解答了所有老師提出的問(wèn)題，在張老師的指導(dǎo)下，今后會(huì)更藝術(shù)化的處理教育和班主任工作中遇到的難題。

　　After this portion of the discussion, Principle Zhang turned to a more serious note and concentrated on speaking about interpersonal skills and life management skills in the forms of helping students to establish moralistic and well-rounded study habits, how to set goals, but more importantly, when to set them, and how to achieve those goals through peer group management and personal will-power.

　　Principle Zhang integrated her teaching theory with us through a series of personal experiences and life stories. She also shared with the audience her years of teaching experience in great detail. Many of her points were different from what we took for granted before, but they truly pointed out the key points in education and rectified the hidden errors in our daily work. In a word, we should love the kids and handle all types of issues encountered in the education and class administration practice in a proper and artistic fashion. Teaching and class administering are noble and glorious jobs that are dedicated to influencing and shaping the students.
