(形式上的否定,意義上的肯定)
e.g.: 1)—I think it’s high time we turned our attention to drunk driving.
—I couldn’t agree with you more.
2)—What do you think of the new dress?
—It can’t be more beautiful.
2.have sth done請人或讓別人做某事
e. g.:—Did you paint the house all by yourself?
—I had it painted.
3.How could you…?你怎么能…?
(對對方的做法或想法不贊同或持批評態(tài)度)
e.g.:—I didn’t think much of the lecture. I dozed off half the time.
—How could you do that?
4.How do you like…?你覺得……怎么樣
e.g.—The place I’ve heard so much about is Los Angeles. The climate is pretty good.
—How do you like it?
5.I’d love to, but…我倒是愿意,但是…(表示謝絕)
e.g.:—Would you like to come to dinner with us tonight?
—I’d love to, but I’ve got to study for tomorrow’s test.
6.It’s about time…是時(shí)候(做)……
e.g.—The city council has finally voted the funds to build a new high school.
—It’s about time they did it.
7.It’s all very well to say…說說……當(dāng)然容易
e.g.—It’s partly your own fault. You should never let in anyone like that unless you’re expecting him.
.—It’s all very well to say that, but someone comes to the door and says“electricity”or“gas”and you automatically think he is OK, especially if he shows you a card.

e.g.—What is the home assignment from Professor Smith? I missed the class this morning.

e.g.:—Have you found your dictionary?

10.No sooner…than…一…就…(指兩件事幾乎同時(shí)發(fā)生)

12.the last thing/person…最不愿意或最沒有可能…的人或事

e.g.:—Karen suggested going to the art gallery this weekend.
—Whatever she decides is fine with me.
14.Why bother?用不著(表示否定)
e.g:—Where is Jane? I’ve got to find her and tell her about the meeting this afternoon.
—Why bother? You’ll see her at lunch.
15.Why not…?為何不?干嗎不?(表示建議)
e.g.:—My aunt had a car accident and she’s in hospital.
—Why not go over to see her now?
16.Would it be better if…?如果…不是更好嗎?(用于委婉的建議)
e.g.:—Richard’s become quite unreasonable recently. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.
